These groups were the decision-making groups in the NDC. All of the groups were made up of local people and representatives from organisations with expertise in a variety of areas. All Chairs on these groups were residents and residents were always the majority members on the groups.
The groups were:
- eb4U/NDC Board - responsible for the NDC's strategic direction
- Approval Boards - considered and approved applications for NDC funding
- Community Grants - a small grants programme aimed at community groups
- Education & Employment Steering Group - oversaw projects under this theme
- Environment Steering Group - oversaw projects under the 'Better Place' and 'Safer' themes
- Health Steering Group - oversaw projects under this theme
- Equalities Group - making the NDC open to anyone who wants to take part in and benefit from the programme
- Neighbourhood Management Board - suporting services and residents to work together
