Building the local workforce
Who we are
The East Brighton New Deal for Communities (ebndc) Partnership is made up of six local people, plus five partners. This Partnership is responsible for managing the remaining NDC programme. There's around £4 million being committed in the area in this final, and arguably most important stage.
This is still a huge amount of money and we intend to make every penny count! Our plans for the next three years are outlined in our Delivery Plan 2007-2010. Click here for a copy of our Delivery Plan (Microsoft Word) [262K]
How we started
The East Brighton NDC programme started in 1998 with a large group of volunteers from the local community, statutory services and businesses to review the needs of East Brighton and to put together a bid for funding from the Government's NDC pilot programme.
The bid was successful and in April 2000 the partnership was awarded £47.2 million over ten years for the regeneration of East Brighton. Our project is one of only two in the South East.
What have we achieved?
We've funded over 250 projects over the lifetime of the NDC. For details of all the projects we have funded, please click here to go to our Projects pages.
What next?
It's important that the work to improve the area carries on after the programme finishes in 2010. There are a number of ways we are aiming to do this. For more information click here to go to our plans for The Future.
