Young advisors meeting
The Community Involvement Team engaged over 700 residents and offered ongoing support to over 100 people involved in community organisations.
Two new Neighbourhood Agreements between service providers and local residents were completed this year. One is for the maintenance of the new alley gates in Whitehawk and one for the upkeep of the new play area at Maggie's Corner in Moulsecoomb.
The NDC Youth 4 the Future project trained six young people as Young Advisors, and helped to make sure that the views, concerns and opinions of young people are heard as equal partners in the decision making forums at neighbourhood level. In recognition of the success of the project, a similar scheme is being introduced across the city by Brighton & Hove City Council.
Taking Control is the overarching strategy for the NDC that ensures the local community has the support and information to take control of their area. This includes:
- Community Development Strategy
- our Equalities approach
- Communications Strategy
- Neighbourhood Management
