This New Deal for Communities (NDC) theme promotes health and fitness in the community and provides services to support those most in need. The 'health 4 all' Healthy Living Centre worked with over 1,500 residents this year to promote weight management, mental health support, physical activity, substance misuse support, and support for carers.

Hundreds of residents have been referred to the Stop Smoking Project, many of whom are still not smoking after 12 months. In recognition of the success of this project, Brighton & Hove Primary Care Trust will be continuing to fund it from September 2007.

Two Health Road shows took place this year, at Moulsecoomb and St Mark's Primary Schools, attracting over 500 people. The road shows promoted the services provided by the health 4 all team such as: mental health support, advice on healthy eating and other health related activities in the area.
